The hardest Afrobeat Soldiers in show business had the honor to have been selected
to step into the same stage with one of our biggest mentors, the Godfather
of Soul, Mister please please please himself, the worlds greatest entertainer,
without a doubt the hardest working man in show business, The start of the
show, Mister JAMES BROWN!!!
We got up there and did our thing (You
know, sweaty, nyash shaking unadulterated Afrobeat - Accept no substitutes!)
Big thanks to all the fans who showed up, shared this inspiring experience
with us and got down!
Our own Ticklah (Keyboardist for Antibalas
and Dap Kings) is a co-conspirator of this long awaited gem.
Check the Easy Star Stable for details and the chance to win
a trip to Jamaica... Go

Antibalas had the honor of being invited
to participate in the latest musical project by The Red Hot Organization:
RED HOT AND RIOT, a tribute to the Black President, Abami Eda
himself, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. We recorded a version of "Trouble
Sleep" with Baaba Maal on vocals and acoustic guitar. One
of his musicians also played a beautiful instrument called the
Kora. Taj Mahal participated in this tune too.
Other Artists that participated in this record:
Tony Allen, Femi Kuti, Manu Dibango,
Roy Hargrove, Cheik Lo, Sade, Dead Prez, Common, Macy Gray, D'Angelo,
Jorge Ben Jor, Money Mark, Meshell Ndegeocello and others...
This record benefits Red Hot's activities of Aids awareness in Africa and around
the world. http://www.redhotriot.com
The incomparable Sugarman Three & Co. have
a new Jewel of an Album called "Pure Cane Sugar" it's available
on LP and CD at Daptone Records. Antibalas
members performed in this sweet album.
Another much anticipated release this time by Soulfire
Records saw the light last wednesday. The rough sound of this label now
adds Lee Fields' "Problem" to it's fine collection. They also just
released a compilation of their killer 45's in a joint called "Up from
the Vaults" and yes, some Antibalas members also played in this album.
