Up and running once again?
Let's see if this works. There were technical problems on the server well beyond the scope of my knowledge, and I set up a new blog at another location, but would prefer to keep this one going instead. Let's see how well this works.
By the way, happy new year to all, and blessings in 2006.
Trailer fabulous
I just moved into a small 13 foot trailer which will serve as my interim housing while I design and plan my next move. It is a 1982 Scotty Serro.
It is an amazing use of space and storage, and is really efficient. It is like living in a boat, but I can step out into the beautiful woods of East Austin.
Beats paying rent in Brooklyn!
Urban Farming
It's happening. Stay tuned for pics and details, and an overhaul of the site!
Love from Texas,

On the road again: Goodbye New York
It's finally happening. I am making the move to Austin, Texas, for at least a few months to explore life outside of Brooklyn.
My first project is to build a superadobe dome on a piece of land on the east side of Austin formerly part of a slave plantation.
Stay tuned for pictures, and soon an overhaul of this site!
I leave Sunday AM and arrive sometime late Tuesday night.
A quick rundown
Greetings from the 2nd floor of the club Moods / Schiffbau in Zurich, Switzerland. We are in the nicest industrial area I've ever seen, a space integrated with industry, business, culture...the air quality is cleaner than anywhere in New York, and quieter too. The transportation system of cars, trams, trains, buses, and bikes is really tight, too.
Highlights that come to mind since I wrote last (can't remember when):
A double bill with Mei Tei Sho in Angoulême
Late night wandering through the town of Leuven, Belgium
A show at New Morning in Paris with a visit from Tony Allen sitting in on drums with us, along with Chief Udoh Essiet (Afrika 70) and Segun Damisa (Femi Kuti/Positive Force) on congas, and an introduction by ID of Fela's Afrika 70 organization.
The drives have been long and we are beginning to see a lot of the same highways. Like in America, there's more to see on the backroads in the small towns, but most of the time our schedule dictates that we stick to the fastest roads possible.
I'm looking forward to going back to the states, seeing my friends and family, and digesting all the experiences here, and trying to figure out ways to implement some of the inspirations and good ideas that I've seen over here.
