Last November, on the heels of the hit musical FELA!, Antibalas piled into two rooms at Daptone’s House of Soul Studios in Bushwick, Brooklyn to cut an explosive new set of afrobeat classics.  Reunited with former member and producer Gabe Roth, who was at the helm for their first three full-lengths, the band will release their first album in five years, self-titled, on August 7, on the one-and-only Daptone Records. MMW + Antibalas will be hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest in DC, Philly, and NYC!  All you need to enter is a ticket, and a pre-carved pumpkin with an LED light (no candles, please!) along with your name inside!  The bands will be personally judging each and every pumpkin to announce a winner at each show!  Each winner will receive a goodie bag of merch plus a meet and greet with the bands (with up to 3 friends)!

MMW + Antibalas will host a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC!  To participate, come to the venue between 7:00pm – 8:00pm on October 27^th with your pre-carved pumpkin – make sure to put an LED light inside (no candles!) along with your name.  All pumpkins will be brought to the stage where they will be displayed throughout the show.  The bands will judge the pumpkins and announce a winner before the encore.  You must have a ticket to enter the venue.

Philly

MMW + Antibalas will host a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Friday, Oct. 28 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia!  To participate, come to the venue by 8:00pm on October 28^th with your pre-carved pumpkin – make sure to put an LED light inside (no candles!) along with your name.  Leave it at the Electric Factory Street Team table.  All pumpkins will be brought to the stage where they will be displayed throughout the show.  The bands will judge the pumpkins and announce a winner before the encore.  You must have a ticket to enter the venue.

NYC

MMW + Antibalas will host a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Terminal 5 in NYC!  To participate, come to the venue between 6:00pm – 6:30pm on October 29^th with your pre-carved pumpkin – make sure to put an LED light inside (no candles!) along with your name.  The competition will be held on the roof deck at 6:45PM.  MMW + Antibalas will select their favorite pumpkin and the winner will receive a goodie bag of merch as well as a chance to meet and chat with the bands!  You must have a ticket to enter the venue.
